Woman dies, teen driver escapes crash with non-life threatening injuries
One woman has died while the teenage driver sustained non-life threatening injuries in a crash in regional NSW.
A woman has died in a single car crash after the vehicle she was in left the road and hit a tree in NSW Riverina region.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was in the passenger seat when the car crashed along Newell Highway, about 15km south of Narrandera, at about 1.45pm on Sunday.
NSW Police arrived to find the young female driver and the woman trapped.
Both were removed from the vehicle and CPR was performed on the passenger until paramedics arrived but she died at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The Newell Highway remains closed in both directions between the Sturt Highway and Kidman Way and diversions are in place.
