Two children aged under six have been rushed to hospital after they were found unconscious inside a home.

Paramedics have rushed two young children to hospital after they were found unconscious inside a home in southwestern Sydney.

Emergency services were called to the house on Faithfull Place in Airds about 1.30pm on Wednesday after “concerns were raised for the welfare of two children”, police said.

The two children aged four and five were found unconscious inside the home, NSW Police said.

The Daily Telegraph reported the pair had swallowed a number of tablets prior to becoming unwell.

A young boy was flown to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and a young girl was taken via road ambulance to the same hospital, NSW Ambulance said.

Officers from Campbeltown Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 29-year-old woman was spoken to at the scene and inquiries are continuing.
