The child was administered first aid at the scene, and treated for head injuries, before he was transported to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, an Ambulance NSW spokesman said.

A NSW police spokesman said officers from the Auburn Police Area Command accompanied the ambulance to hospital, in order to ensure paramedics could make the trip as quickly as possible.

Investigations remain ongoing.
