A man is dead and two drivers are in hospital after a fatal crash in Sydney’s northwest on Saturday afternoon.

NSW Police have launched an investigation after a two-vehicle crash at Marsfield at the intersection of Epping Road and Culloden Road.

Paramedics treated the 84-year-old passenger of a Subaru Imprezza, however the man died at the scene.

A 60-year-old Imprezza driver and the 66-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry were also taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

“Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene are awaiting the arrival of specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit,” NSW Police said.

“Major traffic delays are being experienced and motorists are urged to avoid the area.”

Epping Road has been closed in both directions.
