Teenage pedestrian dies in hospital after being hit by car on highway
A teenage girl has died after being hit by a car on the Old Hume Highway and suffering serious head injuries.
A 16-year-old girl has died in hospital after being hit by car in NSW’s Southern Highlands.
The pedestrian was with a 16-year-old boy when they were struck by a Toyota Corolla on the Old Hume Highway at Mittagong on Friday night.
Paramedics treated the girl for serious head injuries before she was flown to Liverpool Hospital where she died on Saturday.
The boy was also treated at the scene for leg injuries but was later taken to the same hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
NSW Police were told a vehicle stopped on the roadway and the two teenagers got out before they were hit by the Toyota.
Their investigations are continuing and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
