Teenage boy rushed to hospital after he was set upon by two dogs in a Homebush West park

Horrified onlookers have witnessed a terrifying dog attack on a boy with one council seizing animals of two different breeds.

A teenage boy is in hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked by two dogs at a park in Sydney’s west.

The 13-year-old was set upon by two dogs in front of horrified onlookers at the Hampstead Rd Park in Homebush West on Sunday afternoon.

Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene about 3.20pm.

Paramedics treated bites on the boy’s leg before he was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Council seized two dogs, a Saint Bernard and rottweiler, and police are investigating the incident.

“Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and secured two dogs at the scene,” NSW Police said.

“Council rangers have taken possession of the dogs as inquiries into the incident continue.”
