Six-year-old boy hit by car while riding scooter in Sydney’s west

A six-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while riding his scooter in Sydney’s west this morning.

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car while riding his scooter in Sydney’s west this morning.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter received a call at 10.23am following reports a six-year-old boy had been hit by an SUV in Blackett.

It is understood the boy was riding his scooter on Boldrewood Rd when the collision occurred.

NSW Police said the 70-year-old male driver stopped immediately and rendered aid before emergency services were called.

The helicopter landed at Popondetta Park ten minutes after being notified of the incident, with NSW Police escorting the CareFlight team to the scene where paramedics were providing initial treatment.

The boy suffered multiple abrasions to his body and a fractured leg.

CareFlight’s clinical team assessed the patient for his injuries and continued treatment as the boy was taken by road ambulance to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
