Several workers have been seriously injured in a workplace incident in Sydney’s Wetherill Park after a roof collapsed.

Seven men fell through the roof of a cool room and landed on machinery at a factory on Cavasinni Place near Newton Road at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

All seven men were taken to Liverpool and Westmead hospitals after being treated by paramedics on the scene.

Three are in serious but stable conditions, with the remaining four suffering minor injuries.

“This was a significant operation for NSW Ambulance paramedics,” NSW Ambulance Acting Inspector Liam Ryan said, confirming some of the men received treatment for spinal injuries and leg fractures.

“Seven patients had fallen from a height and suffered a range of injuries, some of which were serious.

“Our paramedics did an excellent job in challenging circumstances, communicating with each other, specialised medical teams and other emergency crews to ensure the best treatment for all of the patients.”

SafeWork NSW confirmed it is investigating the “serious incident”.
