The search for a girl missing in NSW bushland has ended happily
The family of a girl who went missing in an area west of Sydney had “serious concerns” for her welfare, before she was found safe.
A 13-year-old girl has been found safe and well after being missing overnight in NSW bushland.
A search was launched after her family reported her missing. She had last been seen in Picton, west of Sydney, about 9.30pm on Wednesday.
When she could not be contacted or found, officers from Camden Police Area Command were informed.
“It is believed she may have entered bushland in the vicinity of Picton,” police said in a statement.
Local police and PolAir began searching the area about 9am on Thursday.
About 2pm on Thursday a member of the public – who received the geo-targeting alert - spotted the teenager and contacted police.
