Pregnant teen’s heartbreaking tribute to late boyfriend killed in Easter Show stabbing
The girlfriend of late Uati “Pele” Faletolu has shared her heartbreak two months on from the fatal brawl that killed her boyfriend.
The heartbroken girlfriend of a teenage boy who died after a brawl at the Sydney Royal Easter Show has posted a tragic tribute to her late partner.
Uati “Pele” Faletolu, 17, was on his break from working at one of the show’s rides when he was fatally stabbed in the chest during a fight on the evening of April 11.
He died on his way to hospital, leaving behind his girlfriend Taylor Piliae and their unborn baby son.
Taylor on Wednesday paid tribute to Uati in a devastating post to TikTok, telling followers she was missing him “so much”.
“Missing you so much Uati, so heartbroken. You are not here but I know God’s gotchu now and that you are in a better place and that you are happy,” she wrote.
“Please watch down on our future son. We love you.”
She shared a montage of photos to the song In The Stars by Benson Boone, and quoted some of the lyrics.
“I don’t want to say goodbye, because this one means forever,” she wrote across a photo of them together.
“Now you’re in the stars, and six feet’s never felt so far. Here I am alone again,” she wrote across a photo taken during a memorial.
Bree Piliae, Taylor’s sister, confirmed via Instagram days after the brawl that her sibling was pregnant.
“The rumours are true. My beautiful sister has been blessed with his baby,” Ms Piliae wrote.
“Congratulations big sis, with you every step of the way. Can’t wait to meet you mini Pele.”
She shared a short clip from an ultrasound and a photograph her sister took with the teenager.
The 17-year-old was on his break from working at the ‘Break Dance’ ride when he became involved in a confrontation about 8pm.
Two groups of males, who police believe could be from rival postcode gangs in Sydney’s west, were suspected to be behind the brawl.
No one has been charged over Uati’s death, with police issuing a fresh appeal on Monday urging witnesses to come forward.
Paramedics worked desperately to save Uati’s life, with confronting footage showing them pumping him with blood, but he died shortly after on the way to hospital.
A memorial was held following Uati’s death, with a close friend sharing images online from the evening gathering, where photos of the late teen were displayed among candles.
