A testing clinic will be opened in Rushcutters Bay Park, and NSW Health have expanded health warnings around The Apollo restaurant in Potts Point as coronavirus cases in the exclusive area continue to grow.

Three new cases linked to the Potts Point cluster were diagnosed on Tuesday, with two of those visiting The Apollo on July 22, then the Cruising Yacht Club Australia in Rushcutters Bay on subsequent nights, a statement from NSW Health revealed.

Both people also dined at the Thai Rock restaurant in Potts Point, and authorities now believe this links the two outbreaks.

The third person to be diagnosed is a staff member at The Apollo.

As a result, the public health alert for the restaurant has been extended by one day, meaning anyone who visited the Apollo restaurant on Tuesday July 22 through to Saturday July 25 must self-isolate for 14 days.

Anyone who attended the CYCA at the following times is asked to monitor for symptoms and get a test if they develop symptoms.

Thursday July 23: 6 – 7.30pm

Friday July 24: 3.30pm – 5pm

Sunday July 26: 4pm – 5.30pm.

The Fitness First gym at Kings Cross also underwent a deep clean this week after a positive case attended a group class on Monday July 20.

The gym said the person had not used the gym or facilities, and members who had been deemed close contacts had been advised by NSW Health.

Additionally, anyone who was in the Potts Point area at all over the past two weeks are urged to get tested if they have so much as a runny nose or scratchy throat.

As a result of the rising cases, a new pop-up clinic will open at noon on Wednesday in Rushcutters Bay Park. No booking is required.

This is in addition to six other testing sites in the area, at the East Sydney Community Centre in Darlinghurst, the Sydney Hospital Emergency Department, The Albion Centre in Surry Hills, the Kirketon Road Centre mobile clinic at Woolloomooloo, the Prince of Wales Hospital, and a drive through clinic in the car park at Bondi Beach.

Anyone who is directed to self-isolate must remain in isolation for 14 days, even if they return a negative test, and must be tested again if they experience any symptoms at all.
