An 89-year-old man has been left seriously injured after allegedly being hit by a truck. Now police seek assistance to find the driver.

Police are seeking the help of the public to find a truck driver after an 89-year-old man wound up in hospital in a serious condition.

Emergency services were called to Clyde Street, South Granville shortly after 9am on Wednesday over reports a man had been hit by a truck.

Paramedics treated an 89-year-old man at the scene before taking him to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

Images of another man, as well as a truck, have been released to the public, with police calling for any information as to his whereabouts or that of the driver of the vehicle.

“Police would like to speak to the man shown in the photo and anyone who may have information about the driver or owner of the truck,” police said.

There is no suggestion the man in the image was involved in any wrongdoing.

The Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
