Police have launched a fresh appeal to find a missing grandmother who disappeared from a NSW campsite four years ago.

Anne Marie Jeffery, 73, was camping at the Lake Arragan campground about 75km east of Grafton with her husband and friends when she vanished in 2020.

The Coffs Harbour grandmother was last seen walking between a campground and a public toilet on the morning of August 25.

Despite a major search of the area by police, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service, National Parks and Wildlife and local volunteers, Ms Jeffery has not been seen or heard from since.

Detective Inspector Ritchie Sim said he hoped the fresh appeal would “trigger memories” of those who were in the area at the time.

“The information you have may be (the) missing puzzle piece that helps detectives find Anne,” he said.

Inspector Sim said Ms Jeffery’s disappearance was “sudden” and had a “devastating impact” on her family, friends and the wider community.

“On all accounts Anne was a wonderful person who enjoyed camping with her loved ones, making her disappearance all the more devastating,” he said.

“Sadly, people go missing every year in NSW bushland, so I also want to remind the public to keep an eye on each other when they go camping or for a bushwalk.”

In March 2023, Deputy State Coroner Harriet Grahame ruled Ms Jeffery had died shortly after she went missing “somewhere in the vicinity” of the campground.

Ms Grahame was unable to establish Ms Jeffery’s cause of death.

Ms Jeffery is described as being of caucasian appearance, with a slim build and grey hair.

She was last seen wearing a red and pink top, woollen leggings, red shoes and a beanie.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
