Reports of a body found in bushland north of Sydney turned out to be a mannequin, according to police.

NSW Police were investigating reports of the grim discovery at Berry Park in Mount Colah at 3.20pm on Saturday.

Responding officers did indeed find a lifeless body, but it was not a corpse.

“Emergency services were called to a park on Myall Road, Mount Colah, following reports of a body being found,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“It has now been confirmed as a mannequin. There is no further police action.”

It was unclear how the mannequin came to be in the bushland and whether it was placed deliberately.
