Kmart, Aldi added to growing Covid-19 exposure sites list after Sydney records 38 cases

A Coles and Aldi are among the latest venues listed in an alert issued by health authorities overnight as NSW battles to contain its outbreak.

NSW has issued a significant list of new exposure sites including both close and casual contacts, much of those across western Sydney, warning both must immediately isolate and get tested.

Of the 11 close contact venues, four of them are in the western Sydney suburb of Merrylands, with a positive case spending two hours on Monday afternoon at both an Aldi and Kmart. Shoppers across two major centres in Burwood have also been warned to monitor their symptoms.

Anyone who attended the following venue at the times listed is a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result, and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health.

An Aldi store, Coles supermarket and Vodafone outlet were also added to the Covid-19 exposure list as Sydney’s cluster continues to grow.

NSW recorded 38 new locally acquired virus cases of on Thursday, with 26 of those linked to a known case or cluster – 13 are household contacts and 13 are close contacts – while the source of infection for 12 cases remains under investigation.

NSW Health added several new venues to the Covid exposure list on Thursday afternoon, including a number of supermarkets, restaurants and a car dealership.

Anyone who visited the following venue is considered a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result:
