NSW Covid hotspots: Urgent alert for Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre and Coles

Health authorities have issued an urgent virus alert for a gym and sports centre while also changing the virus exposure times for a supermarket.

NSW Health has updated the list of venues that were visited by an infected hotel quarantine security guard who tested positive to COVID-19 over the weekend.

Anyone who visited the following places at the listed times is being urged to be on the lookout for symptoms and to get tested immediately if they appear.

• Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre (stadium and gymnasium area) - Wednesday, March 10 between 4.15pm and 5.30pm
• Coles Hurstville - Saturday, March 13 between 7.30am and 7.40am.

NSW Health has also revised the potential exposure times to the virus at the same grocery store on the March 10 with any shoppers or staff there between 9.15pm and 9.46pm also urged to monitor for symptoms.

Urgent contact tracing is underway after the state’s first positive COVID-19 case in 55 days was confirmed as a 47-year-old security guard at two quarantine hotels.

Of all venues known to have been visited by the man, the Pancakes on the Rocks at Beverly Hills is most concerning to NSW Health.

The man also visited a Korean restaurant, a 7-Eleven and made five visits to a Hudson’s Coffee before he received his positive test on Saturday night.

The venues of concern that were announced on Sunday include:

— Hudson’s Coffee Shop, Hurstville Private Hospital: Monday, March 8 at 8.30 to 9am

— Hudson’s Coffee Shop, Hurstville Private Hospital: Tuesday, March 9 at 8.30 to 9am

— Hudson’s Coffee Shop, Hurstville Private Hospital: Wednesday, March 10 at 8.30 to 9am

— Hudson’s Coffee Shop, Hurstville Private Hospital: Thursday, March 11 at 8.30 to 9am

— Hudson’s Coffee Shop, Hurstville Private Hospital: Friday, March 12 at 8.30 to 9am

— Dae Jang Kum Korean restaurant, Haymarket: Saturday, March 13 at 12.15 – 12.20am

— 7-Eleven at Capitol Square, George St, Haymarket: Saturday, March 13 at 12.20 – 12.25am

– Bexley Aquatics Centre: Saturday, March 13 at 9 to 9.30am

– Pancakes on The Rocks, Beverly Hills: Saturday March 13 at 10.45am to 12pm

There were also two train lines that were exposed, NSW Chief Health officer Kerry Chant said on Sunday.

“A train from Hurstville to the city arriving at 6.30pm on Friday, March 12 and city to Hurstville leaving at 7am,” she said.
