Police have asked for the public’s help after a teenage girl disappeared in Sydney.

Nikita Karaka, 14, was last seen near Wynyard Park in the Sydney central business district last Thursday, around 4.40pm.

By that time she hadn’t been at her home in Box Hill in the city’s northwest for four days.

Police were called on Saturday after her family became worried when she couldn’t be contacted or located.

On Monday morning, police sent out an appeal to the public to ask for any information on her whereabouts.

Her family has agreed to publish a picture of her in the hope that someone will spot her.

Nikita is described as caucasian, around 150-160 centimetres tall, of thin build and with long dark hair and brown eyes.

She had tattoos on her hands and a nose piercing, police said.

Nikita was last seen wearing a red singlet and matching Nike red shoes.
