Man dies after horror ink tank accident in Sydney’s west
A MAN has died after becoming trapped inside an ink tank at chemical plant in Sydney’s west.
A MAN has died after becoming trapped inside an ink tank following a worksite accident at an ink manufacturing company in Sydney’s west
Crews had been working for hours to free the man trapped inside the tank at the factory on Chisolm Rd, Auburn.
It is understood the man had become trapped “by compression”.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Paul Turner said the man described the man’s death as a tragedy.
“The third patient is now deceased.”
“We did everything we could this is a tragedy,” he said.
A second man was freed shortly after 11am while a third worker was extricated earlier and taken to Westmead Hospital with serious leg injuries.
NSW Ambulance Superintendent Paul Turner said the second man who was freed was in a stable condition.
“The second man has just been released and sent to Westmead with similar injuries and again in a stable condition,” he said.

“We have ten ambulance resources on scene, along with NSW Police and Fire & Rescue NSW”
“There is one patient still trapped in the tank believed to be suffering critical injuries.”
“It is a complex operation.
“We are working as quickly as we can to access these patients. This is a confined space and the difficulty has been getting to them as quickly as possible.”
