Man ‘bitten through the bone’ by shark at Windang Beach, near Wollongong NSW
A man has been treated for injuries after he was bitten through the bone by a shark at a beach near Wollongong, south of Sydney.
Ambulance crews were rushed to a beach south of Port Kembla in the NSW Illawarra after a shark attack.
The incident occurred shortly after 8am this morning at Windang Beach, near Wollongong, south of Sydney, with three ambulance crews and a helicopter on the way.
A 60-year-old man was treated for injuries to his left foot after he was bitten through the bone, causing ligament damage, Nine News reported.
He was treated by members of the Windang Surf Club, who said they were able to control the bleeding.
Paramedics are on the scene.
