A car with a trailer rolled over on a busy motorway in northern Sydney on Friday afternoon, causing delays.

A car with a trailer rolled over on a busy road in Sydney’s north on Friday afternoon.

The four-wheel drive crashed and rolled travelling south on the M1 Pacific Motorway near Ku-ring-gai Chase Road.

Paramedics were alerted around 12.30pm and sent three crews to the scene.

Nobody was seriously injured and no one was transported to hospital, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said.

A large truck is stuck behind the car, which is on its side, as other drivers move slowly around the crash site.

But it wasn’t just southbound travellers who ran into delays – a tree fell over the northbound side of the same road shortly after the crash, causing two out of three lanes to be closed.

The incident happened near the Hawkesbury River Bridge, according to Live Traffic NSW.

“Traffic is heavy. Allow extra travel time,” the service tweeted just after 1pm.

Workers were able to open one of the closed lanes after half an hour, but even then traffic was heavy.

“Traffic is very heavy so continue to allow plenty of extra travel time,” Live Traffic NSW tweeted.

By 2pm the tree was moved off the road and all northbound M1 Pacific Motorway lanes were opened.
