Double drowning off Central Coast of NSW
Police have pulled a second body from the water a day after a woman’s body was found at the picturesque spot.
There has been a double drowning off the Central Coast of NSW after a second body was pulled from the water on Tuesday.
Police recovered the body of a man, aged in his 70s, near Birdie Beach – north of Sydney – at 9am on Tuesday following a major land and sea search.
The man was recovered just a few kilometres south from where a woman, who was in her 80s, was found floating in the waters off Moonee Beach at 2.30pm on Monday afternoon.
The man is believed to be known to the woman.
A report is currently being prepared for the coroner into the woman‘s death.
The popular unpatrolled beach is best known for it’s popular fishing platform named Flat Rock, where five people died after being swept off by waves in 2010.
In 2018, four people aged in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 60s died in one week at Moonee Beach.
More to come.
