Damage caused after fire breaks out at Brewarrina Police Station

Emergency services were called to a police station after reports of the roof catching fire, with authorities working to determine the cause of the blaze.

A fire has broken out in the roof of a police station in northwest NSW.

Emergency services were called to Brewarrina Police Station shortly after 7am on Wednesday after reports of smoke coming out of the building.

Fire and Rescue NSW and Rural Fire Services arrived at the scene and worked to extinguish the flames.

Winchelsea family's house destroyed by fire

A Fire and Rescue spokesman confirmed the fire had begun in the roof of the building and caused heat, smoke and damage to the police station.

No injuries have been reported.

Authorities are yet to determine what caused the fire; however, early indications suggest it may have been electrical.
