Body found in search for missing man in NSW river
A body has been found in the search for a 32-year-old man who went missing in a creek over the weekend, following an extensive search.
The body of a 32-year-old who went missing in a river in NSW’s southwest has been found.
Emergency services were called to Middle Beach in Yanco about 5.15pm on Sunday after reports a 32-year-old man had gone missing in the Murrumbidgee River.
Police launched an extensive multi-agency search for the man on November 3, with the search continuing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Police officers, NSW Ambulance, SES and the Volunteer Rescue Association were all involved in the search, which was initially called off on Sunday due to dark and dangerous river conditions.
It resumed at 7.30am on Monday, and a marine search was launched on Wednesday before it was called off at 3pm that day.
The search then continued on Thursday, however emergency services were called to Middle Beach about 2.45pm Thursday following reports a body had been found in the water.
The body has since been identified as the missing man.
