Man hospitalised after becoming impaled following 3m fall at construction site
A man in his 20s has been hospitalised after becoming impaled following a multi-metre fall at a construction site.
A man has been injured after falling 3m and becoming impaled in the buttocks at a construction site in northwest Sydney.
Emergency services were called to a construction site on Talavera Road in Macquarie Park shortly before 11am after reports a worker had fallen several metres from the worksite.
The man, aged in his 20s, fell several metres from a “high level floor” and through a deck, a NSW Ambulance spokesman told NewsWire.
In the process of the fall, the man became impaled in his buttocks.
Paramedics were on the scene and worked to winch the man to safety.
“It took a little while to get him down,” the ambulance spokesman said.
The man was transported to Royal North Shore hospital.
