A protester, claiming to work at a Royal Australian Air Force base, has been filmed shouting “get the f***ing Jews wiped out” near a Sydney pro-Palestine rally.

Sydney man yells out "get the f****** Jews wiped out"

A protester, claiming to work at a Royal Australian Air Force base, has been filmed shouting profanities and foul anti-Semitic language outside a pro-Palestine rally in Sydney on Sunday.

In disturbing footage shared by the Australian Jewish Association on social media, the man is seen calling for Jews to be “wiped out” before being spoken to by police near the Hyde Park rally, which was attended by over 6,000 people.

“My heart is crying,” the man is heard shouting on the street, before yelling “get the f****** Jews wiped out”.

A member of the public was quick to condemn the man, approaching him to say “that language is not acceptable”.

“I don’t care as a Muslim,” he replied. “I have a right to say.”

Undeterred, the man continued to shout with his arms raised above his head before a police officer approached him and explained “it is an offence to swear in public”.

“I’m going home now”, the man replied, before claiming to work at the Royal Australian Air Force base in Richmond, 60 km from Sydney.

“I work for the air force too … In Richmond,” he said.

“We both are the defence.”

After moving away from police, the man contined to rant to the camera, complaing Australia has “become a nanny state”.

“We can’t do anything, we can’t protest, no free speech protest. We can’t express our opinion,” he said.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Tony Cooke said more than 100 officers were out in Sydney on Sunday, however, they did not deploy special powers given to them to crack down on demonstrators

“It wasn’t necessary … Very clearly, based on the evidence of last Monday, there were serious concerns,” Ms Cooke said.

“That was very much on the forefront of our minds, which is why you saw a significant police presence rolled out.

Weekend rallies were also held in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne, as crowds gathered in support of Palestinians under siege as Israel prepares for a ground invasion on north Gaza.

In Melbourne, protesters were caught lighting flares against the wishes of police.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” crowds were heard chanting.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-CEO Alex Ryvchin said the rallies, peaceful or not, were an offence in themselves.

“The Palestinian ‘resistance’ was revealed in the horrors of October 7 and on the steps of the Opera House,” he said.

“The more disciplined among them have simply reverted to chanting in euphemisms calling for Israel’s destruction and the murder of civilians. The fact that these rallies are taking place just days after the deadliest slaughter of Jews for 80 years, says it all.”

Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi and NSW Greens MP Jenny Leong also both attended the Sydney rally on Sunday.
