Man dies after being pulled from the water at Bondi Beach
A man has died after being pulled from the water at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach. Paramedics treated him at the scene but he tragically died in hospital hours later.
A man in his 80s has died after being pulled from the water at Bondi Beach this morning.
Several NSW Ambulance crews were called to the northern end of the beach, in Sydney’s east, about 9.20am after receiving reports a man was in trouble.
NSW Police said early reports indicated a person had suffered a medical episode.
The 82-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s hospital in a critical condition.
Paramedics were seen attending to the man, who appeared to have blood on his forehead.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said: “NSW Ambulance was called to the vicinity of the life guard tower on Bondi Beach this morning just after 9am.
“Paramedics crews attended to a man at the beach.”
The man later died in hospital.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
