Woman to face court over alleged sexual abuse of 7yo girl
A 40-year-old woman will face court after allegedly sexually assaulting a little girl at a home in NSW’s Hunter region.
A woman is set to reappear in court after being arrested over the alleged sexual abuse of a girl in NSW’s Hunter Region in 2017.
Police launched an investigation in October 2017 after receiving reports a seven-year-old girl had been sexually abused.
The investigation resulted in a 40-year-old woman being arrested on Monday morning.
She is known to the girl and was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years.
It is alleged the woman carried out the sexual assaults at a home in the Hunter region in June 2017.
She was granted conditional bail at Newcastle Local Court on Monday and is set to reappear at Maitland Local Court on July 17.
A 53-year-old man, who is also known to the girl, was arrested and charged in April 2018 as part of the investigation.
He remains before the courts.
