Two police officers in hospital after Central Station attack
Two police officers have been injured after they were allegedly assaulted by a man at one of Sydney’s busiest train stations during peak hour.
Two police officers are in hospital after they were allegedly assaulted at a busy Sydney train station.
The officers were patrolling Central Railway Station about 4pm on Friday just before peak hour.
They were speaking to a female passenger “in relation to an unrelated matter” when a man approached the group and attempted to interfere, NSW Police said.
He was arrested before allegedly assaulting the two male officers.
“One officer was treated by paramedics for a shoulder injury while the second suffered facial injuries,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.
Both have been taken to hospital for treatment.
The man has been taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
