Detective Chief Inspector Michael Moroney told reporters on Saturday it was “a chaotic scene”.

“Obviously this is a very tragic set of circumstances, a young 18-year-old boy who goes out for the evening, and has been killed in such a brutal manner,” he said.

Four men, all aged 19, were initially arrested in relation to the fight, with one charged with

destroying or damaging property and entering the premises of another person without a lawful excuse.

Following further inquiries two males, aged 17 and 18, were arrested at a home in Eagle Vale yesterday.

They were taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with murder.

Police established several crime scenes and found multiple weapons, including a baseball bat, golf club and metal and wooden poles.

The weapons were seized for forensic examination.

Both teens have been refused bail and will appear in court today.

The 17-year-old will appear in juvenile court and the 18-year-old will go to Campbelltown Local Court.

A search warrant was also executed at a home in Campbelltown, where several items were seized.

Tributes have started flowing in for the teen, with friends taking to social media to mourn Mr Ioane’s death.

One woman, Lucia Ola’aiga, claimed the 18-year-old “didn’t even want to go to this stupid party”.

“Last night’s incident hits hard especially to his family and his close friends, nothing hurts more than losing one of your own such a quiet kid who deserved much better,” Ms Ola’aiga wrote on Facebook.

Other friends described Mr Ioane as a “humble” and “bubbly” person.

Insp Moroney said inquiries were continuing into why the fight broke out at the party, which was attended by 50 to 80 people.

Police are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
