Teenager seriously injured in muck up day prank gone wrong

It is believed a group of students had gathered to throw water balloons as part of a muck up day stunt in the moments prior to the incident.

A teenager has been hospitalised with serious injuries in Sydney’s northwest after a muck up day water balloon stunt went awry.

At about 1.45pm on Wednesday, several Oakhill College students were gathered at First Farm Drive in Castle Hill to throw water balloons, according to 7News.

During the activity a 17-year-old boy was hit by a car being driven by an 18-year-old man.

Emergency services were called to the scene and paramedics treated the boy.

He was taken to the Children’s Hospital in Westmead in a stable condition with a head injury.

The driver, who returned a negative result from a breath test at the scene, was arrested.

He was subsequently charged with causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Paramatta Local Court on Wednesday November 1.

It is believed the 18-year-old driver was on his P-plates and had been swerving to dodge the water balloons prior to the incident, 7News reported.
