Teenager charged after 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed at house party in Chifley, NSW
Police allege a 16-year-old was stabbed when a group of 10 people – some armed with machetes – targeted them at a Sydney house party.
A teenager has been charged after a 16-year-old was allegedly stabbed a house party in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Police allege an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were at the front of the house on Carnegie Court, Chifley on July 5 when they were approached by a group of 10 people.
Two of the group were allegedly armed with machetes. Witnesses recounted members of the group wearing ski masks.
The 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and stabbed before the group fled the scene and ran down a nearby alley.
The teenager was treated by paramedics for lacerations before being transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The 18-year-old man was not injured.
On Thursday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to the incident.
He has been charged with reckless wounding – in company, attempt stalk/intimidate intend fear of harm (personal), participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, supply prohibited drug less than equal to small quantity and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
The teenager was refused bail and expected to face a children’s court on Friday.
Ayman, a privately hired security guard told The Daily Telegraph the aftermath of the alleged stabbing was “chaotic” and “very loud” with a “lot of swearing”.
