A 17-year-old has been charged for allegedly riding a motorcycle onto a train station platform and hitting a police officer.

A teenager has been charged after allegedly riding a motorbike onto a Sydney train station and hitting a police officer.

Shortly before 5pm on Wednesday, officers patrolling Warwick Farm train station in Western Sydney saw two people riding a motorbike with the registration numbers covered.

When police attempted to stop the 17-year-old male motorcycle rider and passenger, they allegedly left the scene.

A short time later, police saw the motorcyclist and passenger near the entrance of Warwick Farm train station, where the passenger dismounted.

Police allege the 17-year-old motorbike rider then rode onto the platform of the station before accelerating towards police and hitting an officer, who was treated for minor injuries.

“When searched, police will allege he was also in possession of a knife,” a NSW Police statement read.

The youth was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences, including driving a motor vehicle with a suspended licence, driving recklessly/furiously and assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm.

The teenager was granted strict conditional bail and is set to appear in a children’s court on Thursday, November 14.
