Syndicate of thieves allegedly stole $100,000 of supermarket goods to set up Kings Cross convenience store
A syndicate of thieves allegedly stole a large amount of everyday items from supermarkets and on-sold the goods at their own stores.
A syndicate organised the large scale theft of items from supermarkets, which were then on-sold through a Kings Cross convenience store, police have alleged.
The stolen items were also sold through a storage container in Greenacre, near Strathfield in south west Sydney, according to police.
Police searched a convenience store on William Street in Kings Cross after executing a warrant, as well as the storage container in Greenacre on April 4. During their searches, police allege they seized over $100,000 worth of property, including “vitamins, batteries, personal items, and confectionary,” according to a police statement released this morning.
A video of the search also shows boxes filled with condoms, Chapsticks, tubes of Berocca and shelves stacked with Panadol and other pharmaceuticals.
So far, seven people have been charged in connection to what police say is a large theft “syndicate” that robbed from Aussie supermarkets.
Police arrested a Kings Cross convenience store attendant, 24, on the day of the searches, along with a second man, 32 at a home in Bankstown and a third man, 38, at a home in Woolloomooloo.
