Sydney man Ashley Gaddie charged over alleged murder of teacher, Dannielle Finlay-Jones
The Sydney man was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a dramatic 12-hour clifftop standoff at a popular tourist look out.
Ashley Gaddie, 33, has been charged over the alleged murder of Sydney teacher Dannielle Finlay-Jones, 31.
The Sydney tradie was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a dramatic 12-hour clifftop standoff at Fletcher’s Lookout, a popular tourist destination in the Blue Mountains National Park.

Ms Finlay-Jones reportedly spent Saturday night introducing her new lover to friends at Marsden Brewhouse in Sydney’s west.
The pair returned to her friend’s nearby Cranebrook home in the early hours of Sunday. Ms Finlay-Jones was found dead with brutal head injuries at her friend’s home in Cranebrook, in Sydney’s west on Sunday afternoon.
Although emergency services were called to the home, she couldn’t be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Gaddie has been refused bail and is set to appear at Penrith Local Court later today.
Strike Force Eynahm has been established by NSW Police in order to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Finlay-Jones’ death.
The team will be assisted by detectives from Nepean Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Ms Finlay-Jones was known in the community as a passionate football fan and advocate for the participation of women in sport.
She was involved in Ramsgate RSL Football Club at Ramsgate Beach, in South Sydney, where she had been part of the club for 25 years.
She also worked for the NSW Department of Education as its Director of Female Football.

“The news of her passing has left us all in a state of shock and disbelief. Dannielle was a beautiful person, a life member of the club who was much loved and very well respected not only within our immediate football community,” read a Facebook post from the Ramsgate RSL Football Club.
“Her tireless and unselfish commitment to football within the community, particularly women’s football, will be sorely missed and her legacy will be everlasting.
“Our deep and respectful condolences go to her family especially her mother Jacky.”
