Search for man after Taree girl abducted from yard, molested

Police are searching for a man after a 12-year-old girl was abducted from her backyard and indecently assaulted.

Police are searching for a man after an abduction.

A 12-year-old girl from NSW’s Mid North Coast has been abducted from her backyard and indecently assaulted.

A Taree resident contacted police about 6.30am on Wednesday after the child turned up at the resident’s home.

The girl’s mother reported her missing soon after and the girl is now back in the care of her family.

Police have been told the girl was in her backyard earlier that morning when a man grabbed her from behind, took her to nearby bushland and indecently touched her.

The only description police have is the man was wearing a hooded jumper and police are appealing for public assistance to find him.

They want to speak to anyone who was in the area or may have dashcam footage around Mudford Street and Telopea Drive between 5.30am and 6.30am.
