NSW Police charge two teens for alleged cop car graffiti

The police say two teens damaged a marked cop car parked at a station and then fled to escape arrest, with one of the teens allegedly biting an officer.

Two teens have appeared in court charged with damaging a police car in western Sydney, with one of the pair also charged with allegedly biting a police officer.

NSW Police allege the teen spray-painted a marked police vehicle parked outside the Liverpool Police Station on George Street about 8.25pm on Friday before running from the scene.

Police officers tracked down the teens, who then fled to escape arrest, the police said on Saturday.

“Following a short foot pursuit, police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Campbell Street,” the police said.

“When officers attempted to arrested the 15-year-old boy he allegedly assaulted and bit a police officer before being arrested.”

The police have charged the 16-year-old with destroy or damage property and possess a graffiti implement with intent to contravene.

The police have charged the 15-year-old with hinder or resist a police officer in the execution of duty, assault a police officer without aggravated bodily harm, possess a graffiti implement with intent to contravene, destroy or damage property and possess housebreaking implements.

Both were refused bail and will appear before a children’s court on Saturday.
