NSW Police charge probationary constable with alleged sex offence

A young police officer has been charged with sexual offending involving a 17-year-old girl.

A young New South Wales police officer has been charged with alleged sexual related offences involving a teenage girl.

Police launched an investigation after receiving reports the probationary constable allegedly committed a sexual offence involving a 17-year-old girl in December last year.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested on April 6 and taken to Singleton Police Station.

He was charged with inciting another person to do a sexual act without consent and behaving in offensive manner in/near public place/school.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Singleton Local Court on May 11.

The officer is a probationary constable attached to a command in the Northern Region of NSW.

The officer’s employment status is currently under review.
