Three men have avoided injury after they were shot while standing next to a car on a busy road in Sydney’s south.

The Daily Telegraph says police are investigating “likely links to organised crime” following the incident on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called following reports of a shooting to The Boulevarde, Brighton Le Sands, about 3.15pm.

It’s understood shots were fired near the Grand Parade.

“Police have been told an Audi SUV turned into The Boulevarde, from The Grand Parade, when an unknown occupant of the car discharged a firearm in the direction of three men standing close to a parked vehicle,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“The three men and the Audi left the scene.

“There have been no reports of injuries.”

Police have since found three cars with bullet holes and a nearby building was also damaged following the shooting.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said a crime scene had been established, with police examining the area.

The Boulevarde remains closed between The Grand Parade and Trafalgar St.

Police were also alerted to reports an Audi SUV, matching the description of the vehicle linked to the shooting, was found on fire in Windarra Street, Narwee, about 13km from Brighton-Le-Sands.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman told NewsWire firefighters were called about 3.50pm and have since extinguished the blaze.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.

NSW Ambulance was not called following the shooting, with no reports of injuries at this stage.
