Man dies after being assaulted during home invasion at Penrith
A man has died after he was allegedly attacked by two intruders in his home.
A man has died during a home invasion in Greater Western Sydney overnight.
Two people broke into a unit on Union Rd at Penrith and assaulted a man inside in the early hours of Saturday, NSW Police allege.
The man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was treated by paramedics but his condition deteriorated and he died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established at the unit complex and police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, including officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Police remained at the scene later on Saturday morning.
Inquiries are ongoing.
