A man has been charged after he allegedly urinated on $300 worth of food at a Woolworths in Sydney’s CBD.

A 22-year-old man has been charged after allegedly urinating on food at a Woolworths supermarket in Sydney’s CBD.

Police allege the man walked into the store on George St on July 1 before urinating on the products and causing more than $300 worth of damage.

Police were told staff undertook extensive work over a several hours to decontaminate the area.

Footage from the incident shows the man tying up his pants as he left the store.

The man was arrested in Hunters Hill about 1.40am on Sunday, following a police appeal for public assistance.

He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was charged with “contaminate goods with intent to cause public alarm, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and offensive conduct while upon non-prescribed inclosed lands”.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Bail Court later on Sunday.
