Man allegedly described ‘sex acts’ he wanted to perform on girl
MONTHS after a Sydney man allegedly described the sexual acts he wanted to perform on a 10-year-old to a cop masquerading as her mum, detectives swooped in.
A MAN will face court today after he was allegedly convinced by detectives he was speaking to children online, inadvertently describing to the undercover cop the “sexual acts” he wanted to perform on kids and attempting to meet them for sex.
The 63-year-old Sydney man was charged today by Strike Force Trawler detectives over the alleged online procurement of a child for sex.
Detectives say they began speaking to the 63-year-old back in August, chatting with the eastern suburbs man online before swooping in.
Police allege detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) made the man believe he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl, engaging in “highly sexualised conversations” on a social media application.
NSW Police allege after their chats, the 63-year-old man arranged with the undercover detective to meet up for sex.
In another conversation, police allege the man believed he was speaking to the mother of a 10-year-old girl when he described “sexual acts” he wanted to perform on the child.
Following three months of extensive investigations and online conversations, the 63-year-old man was arrested yesterday on High St in Penrith just before 11am.
Shortly after he was arrested, detectives searched the man’s Matravaille home in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
Detectives seized a laptop, computer tower, a video camera, and electronic storage devices.
He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with use carriage service to procure person under 16 years for sex and use carriage service transmit/publish/promote child pornography.
He was refused bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court today.
