Man, 59, charged with murder of elderly woman, 70, in South West Rocks in NSW
Police have made a grisly find after being called to a unit in a quiet coastal town on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
A man has been charged with the murder of an elderly woman after police made a grisly discovery in a home on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
Police were called to a unit on Memorial Ave in South West Rocks – about 460kmh north of Sydney – where they found the body of a woman, 70, about 8am on Friday.
A man, 59, was arrested at the scene and taken to Kempsey Police Station.
Police allege the pair were known to each other.
Mid North Coast Police District detectives established a crime scene and started Strike Force Nundroo to investigate the woman’s death.
Detectives later charged the man with murder following an investigation.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before the Port Macquarie Bail Court on Saturday.
