Former high-profile Comanchero Ali Bazzi arrested after allegedly stealing a trolley

A former high-profile bikie has faced a Sydney court after he allegedly stole a strange item and used a fake name.

A former high-profile bikie has been released on bail after vowing to fight allegations he stole a trolley from a Sydney storage facility.

Ali Bazzi was arrested at Sydney’s Day Street Police Station on Thursday and charged with three counts of contravening a serious crime prevention order and larceny.

A court was told on Friday morning that he would plead not guilty and was set to fight the allegations.

The NSW Supreme Court issued the 43-year-old with a serious crime prevention order in September last year.

Police allege Mr Bazzi stole items from the Kennards storage facility at Ultimo on January 29. He allegedly used a fake name and stole a removalist trolley worth $990.

It is also alleged he did not provide “accurate personal identification information” to police, in contravention of the SCPO.

“The criminal groups squad apply for serious crime prevention orders very selectively to ensure the best protection of the public,” the squad’s commander Detective Superintendent Grant Taylor said.

“These orders are in place for a reason and anyone who has such an order placed against them can be sure that if they do not take them seriously, they will end up on the wrong side of the prison wall.”

The orders aim to prevent, restrict and disrupt serious crime-related activities.

Mr Bazzi was refused bail however was released after appearing at Sydney’s Central Local Court on Friday.

Prosecutors did not oppose his bail application and he was released on a raft of conditions, including he not enter the Kennards storage facility at Ultimo.

He was bailed to live at an address and must come to the door for any police checks.
