A hydroponic cannabis set-up has been uncovered after a home in Sydney’s northwest burned down on Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at the house on Victoria Road in Rydalmere about 11.45pm.

Fire and Rescue NSW were able to put out the blaze but not before it caused significant damage to the property.

As a result of the blaze, police from Cumberland Local Area Command were then able to uncover the hydroponic set-up.

The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries have been reported to the police.

A crime scene has been established at the property, and police are urging anyone who has any information about the incident to contact them.
