Police have released CCTV footage after a concrete object was hurled at a bus, injuring the driver in Sydney’s inner west.

Footage has been released of man police want to speak to after a concrete object was hurled at a bus, shattering the window and injuring the driver in Sydney’s inner west.

The projectile was thrown at the bus just after midday on Saturday as it stopped at traffic lights on Liverpool Road, Burwood, near the Burwood Road intersection.

NSW Police said a man approached the front passenger door and verbally abused the driver before throwing a piece of concrete at the window, causing it to smash.

The male bus driver sustained minor cuts to his arm and the man fled.

Police released new footage on Wednesday of a man they say may be able to assist their inquiries.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his 40s, solid build, with short black hair and a moustache/goatee.

He is shown in the vision wearing a blue collared shirt, denim jeans shorts, white sneakers, and is carrying a satchel.
