A 29-year-old woman was allegedly held at knifepoint and assaulted before a man took off in her BMW following a dramatic carjacking.
Police have swooped on four teenagers after a woman was allegedly assaulted during a dramatic carjacking in Sydney’s Hills District on Sunday.
Police say the 29-year-old woman parked her BMW at The Hills Showground Metro car park, Castle Hill, about 8.30am on Sunday when an unknown man allegedly held her at knifepoint and demanded the keys to her car.
The woman, from Kellyville, handed them over before she was allegedly assaulted when she tried to flee the scene. Police said she suffered minor injuries.
The man took off in her BMW.
About 9.30pm on Sunday police spotted the stolen vehicle parked in Kemp St, Newcastle, but the driver allegedly sped away, prompting a short police pursuit that was terminated due to safety concerns.
An hour later officers noticed the vehicle driving west along the New England Highway, Hexham, and followed it into Tarro.
Polair was called in to track the car’s movements through the local streets before it joined the M1 and started travelling south.
Police intercepted the vehicle about 1am on Monday at a roadblock on the Palmdale Rd overpass at Ourimbah on the Central Coast.
Four men – two aged 18 and two aged 19 – were arrested and taken to Wyong police station.
Charges are yet to be laid.
