Alleged paedophile struggles to fit in police car after being accused of propositioning 14-year-old
An alleged paedophile has struggled to fit in the back of a police car after being accused of propositioning a 14-year-old girl online.
Cameras have captured the moment a middle-aged NSW man was arrested following a police sting to catch online predators.
The 50-year-old struggled to climb into the back of the police car where he was locked in a small cage before being driven away.
He is accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversations with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl, as well as making arrangements to meet her for sex.
The man was speaking with detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit.
Strike force detectives arrested him in Tuggerah just before 10am on Thursday.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with use carriage service – procure child under 16 years for sexual activity.
The man was due to appear at Wyong Local Court on Friday.
Strike Force Trawler continues to investigate the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated online and through other technological means.
Regular covert online investigations are conducted to draw out those seeking to use the internet to groom young children.
The detectives involved are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
