A woman has been arrested for slashing a man with a Samurai sword
A woman has been charged over an alleged attack with a Sumari sword that left a western Sydney street covered in blood.
A woman has been arrested for allegedly slashing a man with a Samurai sword in Sydney’s western suburbs last night.
It’s believed the two had a confrontation inside a Liverpool unit before the 29-year-old woman left shortly before midnight.
The 23-year-old man followed her onto the street where the fight continued. He then threw a brick at the woman.
She responded by allegedly pulling out a Samurai sword, forcing the man to run from the area.
But police allege the woman found him nearby and swung the sword at his head.
The man raised his arm to protect his face and was struck by the large blade, causing deep lacerations to his arm.
The 29-year-old woman then allegedly fled the scene while the man ran to the Hume Highway where he flagged down a passing ambulance.
He was taken to Liverpool Hospital and remains there in a stable condition.
Police attended the scene where they found blood covering the road.
The woman was arrested in a nearby apartment and taken to the Liverpool Police Station.
She was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail.
She is expected to appear at the Parramatta Bail Court later today.
