$10m of cannabis plants seized in major drug bust at property in Sydney’s southwest

A man was bitten by a dog during an arrest as police seized about $10m worth of a popular drug in a major bust.

An estimated $10m worth of cannabis plants have been found at a southwestern Sydney property in a major drug bust.

Police searched an Ingleburn Rd property in Leppington about 9.30am on Thursday.

A group of three men were arrested nearby, with one needing to be treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics after he suffered a bite from a police dog during the arrest.

Officers allegedly found about 5000 cannabis plants worth an estimated $10m during the search.

The three men, aged 36, 43 and 39, were charged with found on/entering/leaving drug premises, cultivate prohibited plant more than or equal to large commercial quantity, take part supply cannabis more than indictable and less than commercial quantity and being in charge of an animal fail to exercise care.

The 43-year-old was also charged with an outstanding warrant, with the group all expected to front Picton Local Court on Friday.
