A rideshare driver has been charged after allegedly raping a woman he was tasked with driving home in Sydney’s Inner West.

A woman aged in her early 20s ordered a car about 7.30am on May 5 and was allegedly picked up by driver Mohamad Pili-Bake.

Police allege he was licensed with a rideshare company, which The Daily Telegraph reported was Uber.

The man, 48, is alleged to have indecently touched the woman while he was driving, and redirected the car to a park where police will claim he raped her.

It is alleged she was dropped off in the local area where she called police and attended a local hospital.

He attended Parramatta Local Court on May 11 and was refused bail. No pleas have been entered.

Mr Pili-Bake will next face Burwood Local Court on July 10.

Police will also file an application for an apprehended violence order against Mr Pili-Bake on Wednesday at Bankstown Local Court.
